Hello

This is a little more about me:

  • I live in the UK and speak English

  • I am white British and have benefitted from the social and economic privileges this has given me in an unequal world

  • I was raised and socialised as female

  • I am genderqueer

  • I was diagnosed with ADHD at 37 and self-diagnosed autistic after this

  • I love the woods and walking my dogs in nature as much as possible. Being outside regulates me more than anything else

A little bit about me...

After trying on many different career hats (hello, ADHD!), I started to train as a therapist in my late 20s. I was drawn to this because I'd had some profoundly life-altering experiences of therapy myself and had always had a keen interest in what makes us tick and how we connect to ourselves and others.

My first training was in Psychodynamic Counselling, then CBT, then Clinical Supervision, then a Psychotherapy MSc.  For over 15 years, I have been immersed in the world of therapy, and I can honestly say that I love my work. Guiding people through their inner landscapes and unravelling the complexities of their emotions, thoughts, and experiences is an honour and a privilege.

In 2019, I discovered Internal Family Systems (IFS). It felt like the answer to the question I didn't even know I'd been asking through the rest of my work. The fact that our minds are multiple, that we have different parts or subpersonalities inside of us, and that they carry different stories and want different things whilst all having the best of intentions for us all made so much sense to me. It also made sense to me as a therapist in how I worked. I had never been a 'blank slate' and never fitted into that therapist's identity. I had always been alongside my clients, guiding and supporting them to know themselves better. With IFS, I could work to guide and support my client's internal connection to themselves.

In the same year, I realised my neurodivergence by chance whilst watching a lecture on ADHD (whilst simultaneously cleaning the kitchen, of course). Until then, I assumed everyone struggled as I did, and maybe they were just better at life, and I was just 'odd' or 'weird' like I'd always been told. Following my ADHD diagnosis, I also realised my autism. I've been in a process of growth and unmasking around this ever since. As someone who was diagnosed late in life with ADHD/autism, I intimately understand what it's like to navigate a world that may not always feel designed for us. This personal journey has profoundly shaped my perspective as a psychotherapist, empowering me to create a safe and empathetic space for individuals seeking to explore their unique paths.

Between then and now, I have become a Certified IFS Psychotherapist and completed IFS for couples (IFIO). No other approach to humans and therapy has felt like a better fit for me and my clients. IFS has been personally and professionally groundbreaking for me, and I find it is an amazing fit with neurodivergent systems. As both a psychotherapist and supervisor, I am here to support you in fostering a deeper connection with yourself. Our journey together will be one of exploration and discovery as we work collaboratively to uncover your authentic self and find your unique way of being in the world.

My practice is rooted in affirming the diversity of human experiences. I am dedicated to creating an inclusive space where people of all backgrounds, identities, and orientations feel respected and valued. I believe that healing and growth come from understanding and embracing our individuality, including our neurodivergent experiences. Through a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, I will empower you to embrace your strengths, navigate challenges, and foster a greater sense of self-acceptance.

If you're seeking guidance, support, or a space to explore your inner world, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey of self-discovery and growth. Together, I can help you connect the parts that keep you safe and the ones that hold the stories of the past and support you to work towards building a more fulfilling and authentic life and more anchored in self.

Thank you for considering me on your path. I look forward to connecting with you.
